Gjirokastër
We honor Gjirokastër with a classic glossy-black timepiece. The 42 mm dial proudly features the iconic silver eagle, symbolizing strength and heritage. The dial rests within a polished stainless-steel case, while a maroon Italian genuine leather strap completes the refined look of this model. The classic eagle and our logo are meticulously engraved on the case back, crown, strap, and buckle.
Often called “The Stone City,” Gjirokastër lies in southern Albania and is renowned for its remarkable historical character. The city’s old town is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its distinctive Ottoman-era architecture, charming stone houses, and narrow cobblestone streets.
Gjirokastër was first mentioned in 1336 as part of the Byzantine Empire. Its name is believed to derive from Princess Argjiro, who, according to legend, leapt from the city’s castle to her death rather than fall into the hands of the Ottomans.
The city also played an important role in Albanian national history. In 1880, the League of Prizren held a meeting in Gjirokastër to discuss matters of national security, while the National Awakening Movement (1831–1912) remained highly active in the region. Alongside its striking architecture, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks is Gjirokastër Castle, also known as the Castle of Argjiro.
